NASSCOM Activities @ BVRIT HYDERABAD

The following MoUs have been executed between Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) and National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM):

  1. NASSCOM Sector Skills Council Qualification Pack
  2. Non-Disclosure Agreement for QP Content Sharing
  3. Acceptance of Proposal and Expression of Interest of Future Skills
  4. Future Skills Subscription Agreement

As a part of NASSCOM Activities there are three initiatives taken care by various faculty mentors.

Under SVES, BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for women has initiated three NASSCOM training programs for both the students and faculty members. The purpose of conducting these training programs for the students is to make them industry ready. The faculty members have been trained by industry experts on various cutting edge technologies under Train–The–Trainer (TTT) program at VEDIC.

The details of training programs are:

NASSCOM Sector Skills Council (SSC) Qualification Pack (QP):

This training program was initiated on 13 Dec’ 2017. The QPs are Associate Analytics and Security Analyst. As per MoU, NASSCOM will train the faculty members of SVES and in turn, they have to train the students.

Five faculty members from BVRIT Hyderabad have been trained so far and attempted the exam on CoCubes platform on 23rd Dec 2019 at BVRIT Narsapur campus.

Associate Analytics Faculty training Program were attended by

These faculty have trained 62 students of III years belonging to all the departments during the 2019-20 semester.

Security Analyst Faculty training Program were attended by

    2. Ms E.Padmavathi, Assistant Professor, CSE Department

    These faculty have trained a batch of 60 students of II year belonging to all the departments during the 2019-20 semester.

Mr U.Chandrasekhar Received trainer certificate with Trainer ID-TR91333 for clearing both Q-pack and TVET exams.

NASSCOM Future Skills:

Government of India has initiated Future Skills project through NASSCOM. Its objective is to enhance the skills of people in India to meet the future needs. SVES initiated Future Skills Program in May 2019 in collaboration with NASSCOM. The contents for the future skills program are provided by Edcast Asia Pvt Ltd., Mumbai. As per MoU, NASSCOM and Edcast Asia PvtLtd, will provide:

Both free and paid contents are available on at least 10 skills set for 2000+ SVES faculty members and student subscribers. Following are the activities planned under this initiatives.

    • Industrial talks
    • Hackathons and

Industry oriented projects for students.

The ten futures kills identified by the platform are

Objective:
  • Faculty members and students have to enhance their knowledge in new and trending technologies.
  • Faculty members have to curate the content (pathways and journeys) created by the members.
  • Monitor the student’s progress in completing various foundation courses available on the platform to skill up and be industry ready.
Mile Stones:
  • 22nd Dec 2019: Faculty have conducted CuraThon to create content on the Future skills platform
  • 2nd Jan 2020 FN: Orientation program was conducted by Mr U.Chandrasekhar to the II yr students regarding the program.
  • 2nd Jan 2020 AN: Orientation program was conducted by Mr U.Chandrasekhar to the III yr students regarding the program.

As on 17th May 2020, 70 students have completed various unique foundation courses and 113 students are progressing on the 3 major foundation courses such as

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Big Data Analytics(BDA)
  • IoT
  • A total of 210 students of all branches and following 18 Faculty are provided logins to use the platform.

AWS Educate:

NASSCOM in collaboration with Amazon has initiated the AWS Educate program at SVES.

They have conducted a 1 hour session on “Future Skills Enablement For Educators” 6th May 2020 at 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm to educate students on benefits of using this Amazon cloud based LMS platform. The students will be able to skill up themselves by completing various career path programs developed on the platform.
Focus on Cloud Career Pathways: Essential skills in cloud computing. Each Pathway, aligned to in-demand job roles, like:

  • Machine-Learning
  • Data-Scientist
  • Application Developer
  • Dev-ops Engineer
  • Cyber-Security Specialist
  • Solution Architect
  • Cloud Support Engineer
  1. As a first step, faculty will be mentored who will guide students when they are working on assigned projects
  2. Students will get access to AWS Educate Job Board wherein internship and employment opportunities are posted
  3. Students will be given practice projects to work on.

On 25th May Mr Chandrasekhar Uddagiri hosted an online video conference for all the faculty mentors of SVES group to educate them about AWS educate platform and the process of on-boarding the students, creation of virtual classrooms, claiming the credits etc.

Resource Person: Dr Niladri Dey, Professor, BVRIT Narsapur acted as resource person for the 2 hours session. Ms Swati Saini and Ms Sridevi Sira briefed the audience about the objective of the program.
