Dr. K. V. N. Sunitha (Principal, BVRITH)

Dr. K. V. N. Sunitha completed her B.Tech. in ECE from ANU, M.Tech. in CS from REC Warangal in 1993 and Ph.D in CSE from JNTU Hyderabad in 2006. She has 30+ years of Teaching Experience and 15+ years of research experience. She is working as a Founder Principal, BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women, Hyderabad since August 2012. She received “Academic Excellence Award” by  G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Science in 2005, “Best computer Science Engineering Teacher award for the year 2007”  by ISTE in 2008, “Distinguished Principal Award” by CSI Mumbai in 2017 @ IIT Bombay, Received Deewang Mehtha “Women in Education Award” in 2017. She was felicitated for outstanding contribution & achievements in the field of Engineering in Women Engineers Meet 29th Indian Engineering Congress, IEI held at Visveswaraiah Bhavan, Hyderabad on 18th Dec 2014. She received “Engineer of the year 2019 Award” by IEI, Telangana in 2019. She received “Acharya Ratna” –National Award for life time achievement for the year  2019 by Indian servers in association with  AP & Telangana IT Association, in 2019. Received “Best Engineering College Principal in Telangana State Award for the year 2019″ by Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in 2019.  She has guided 14 Ph.Ds and currently guiding 8 research scholars. She authored 5 text books, published more than 185 papers. & 7 patents.

ACHIEVEMENTS

In recognition of his innovative and distinctive contributions in the area of Teaching and Research, The Institution of Engineers (India),  Telangana Centre, Hyderabad here by present the  “ENGINEER OF THE YEAR AWARD” on the occasion of 50th Engineers day in commemoration of 159th Birthday celebration of “Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam  Visweswarayya” on 15th September 2019.

She has been recognized & invited by AICTE as NBA Expert Evaluator. She has authored five  text books, “Programming in UNIX and Compiler design” by BS Publications in 2008, “ Automata Theory ” by Tata McGrawHill  in 2010, ” Theory of Computation” by TMH in 2011 , “Compiler Construction”, Pearson India Ltd in July 2013, “Formal Languages and Automata Theory” by Pearson India Ltd  in 2015 & a Chapter on “Telugu Speech Corrector “ in the book under NOVA Science publishers, USA. She was the editorial board member for prestigious international conferences –ICMEET 2017 and ICICCT 2019.

She has guided 9 Ph.Ds and currently guiding 8 research scholars.   Her areas of research include Natural Language Processing, Speech Processing, Network & Web Security. She received a research grant from CSI for her R&D project in March 2011 for one year.  She also received 38.5 lakhs of funding for DST TIDE project on “Medicine recognition and alerting system for visually impaired people”, & Rs. 27.32 Lakhs under NSTMIS for the project “Analysis of Career Path of Women Engineers in India”. She has published more than 150 papers in various International & National Journals and conferences. She is a reviewer for many National and International Journals. She is a fellow member of Institute of Engineers, Sr. Member for IEEE & International association CSIT, IAENG and life member of many technical associations like CSI and ACM.

With in no time, under her leadership, BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women received many awards and rewards like 147 Rank in NIRF 2019, NBA Accreditation for 3 years,  Asia Book of Records for “largest mental health and peer counseling for women “ and many more.
