Entrepreneurship Development Cell – EDC

BVRIT HYDERABAD College of Engineering for Women always aims high not only in providing the best academics but also striving to fulfill the dreams and to increase the confidence levels in students willing to establish their own industry in future. Incubation Centre, established with the above intention came into existence from 21st December 2013 where students were trained from the initial stages of idea generation to the prototype development and later merged into the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), established on 8^th July 2015 to promote entrepreneurship and to improve the entrepreneurial skills among the students. The main objective of EDC is to create entrepreneurial culture in the institute and foster the growth of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the students and faculty.

Orientation on Junicorn by Ms. Padma Alluri and Mr. Ch. Venkata Sai, International Startup Foundation and Idea Pitching Competition was organized on 23-07-2025.
Entrepreneurial Success Journey by Ms. Valli C Shobhana, Founder, Guarded Growth, Zen IP is organized on 02-07-2025.
Le-Startup Confluence – An Expert talk by Ms. Manushi K Shah, Partner, La Mintage Legal and Dr. Moksha Kalyana Ram Abhiramula, Founder, La Mintage Legal on 26^th June 2025.
An Industrial Visit with students was planned to T-Works, Hyderabad on 13^th March 2025.
FALATHON – LET’S FAIL AND LEARN, (24- Hour Ideathon) was organized on 06-07 March, 2025 exclusively for B.Tech I Year Students.
A Startup RAKSHA HIGIENE Pvt Ltd has been incorporated by Ms. Rishitha Madeela (IV Yr ECE) on 19/03/2025 which offers bio degradable sanitary pads.
Student Faculty Startup IGNISTIQ SERVICES LLP has been registered by Dr. Ravuri Viswanadham (Associate Professor- ECE & IIC Convenor) and Ms. K.Sadhana (II Yr CSE) on 19/02/2025 which offers SASTRIKART an online platform access to religious and spiritual services online and in person.
Inauguration of IGNITE Certification Program -Becoming an Effective Entrepreneu, A customized program for students to learn Entrepreneurship Course in collaboration with Directorate of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Startups , JNTUH & Wadhwani Foundation on 16^th November 2024.
PIVOT- Change is Constant – A 24 Hr MAKETHON organized by EDC Cell on 30-9-2024 to 01-10-2024.
A Session on “Idea To Startup: Road Map for Success by Dr.Hafeez Basha Mentor, WE-HUB, Hyderabad on 23^rd July 2024.
An Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) in collaboration with MSME-Development and Facilitation Office, Balanagar, Hyderabad was organised on 24th April 2024.
FALATHON – LET’S FAIL AND LEARN, (24- Hour Ideathon) was organized on 01-02 December, 2023 exclusively for B.Tech I Year Students.
A Guest Lecture on “Accelerating Student Entrepreneurs in Electronics, IT and Technology Sectors through Incubation Centers” by Dr. Zahoorullah.S, MD, Founder, Dr Z Labs on 20th November 2023.
14 Students and 3 Faculty Members have attended a “Workshop on Design Thinking” by Prof. Mike Testani, Binghamton University at VEDIC, Aziz Nagar on 19-20 October 2023.
An Event “IGNITE- Innovation in You” event is organized on the occasion of National Innovation Day on 17 October 2023.
An Internal Evaluation of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2023 is organised on 23 September 2023.
An orientation session to 2023 batch first year about the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) & Vishnu Start-up and Accelerator Centre for women (V-SAW) was conducted on 02 September 2023.
A Field Visit by the students and faculty members on a session on Entrepreneurship to WE-HUB Hyderabad on 30 August 2023.
MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0 (Women) Internal Evaluation was organised on 26^th August 2023.
A Guest Lecture on “Business Model Canvas” by Dr. M.Kaushik, CEO, Visva TBI, Bhimavaram was organized on 05 July 2023.
An Orientation Session on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem” by Dr. M. Kaushik, CEO, Visva TBI, Bhimavaram was organized on 28 June 2023.
First Faculty-Student Start-up “INVIU SYSTEMS LLP” by BVRIT HYDERABAD College of Engineering for Women was inaugurated on 05 June 2023.

Idea Pitching Competition – Ideathon was organised by EDC, V-SAW BVRITH on 22^nd February 2023.
Students Showcased the Prototypes and won Rs.10,000 cash prize in the LAB TO MARKET CONCLAVE, An IITM PALS Initiative – held at IIT MADRAS on 18^th February 2023.
Seven (7) students were selected for the Paid Internship with TiE Hyderabad from 19 September to 31^st December 2022.
Idea Pitching Competition for the MSME Idea Hackathon 2.0 organised by EDC, V-SAW BVRITH on 12^th December 2022.
Students Participated in the TRANSFORMERS 2022 an Idea Pitching Competition by TAL SCOUTS International and won First Prize held on 10^th December 2022.
A Guest Lecture on “You are only Entitled to the action, never to its fruits – Learnings from Bhagavad-Gita & Meditation” by Ms. Sailaja Simma, Founder, Omparampara was held on 21-22 November 2022.
