RAKSHANA – Your Shield is the Women’s Safety Cell at BVRIT HYDERABAD, dedicatedtoensuring the safety, security, and well-being of female students, faculty, andstaff. Through workshops, counseling, a 24/7 helpline, and collaborations with the SHETeam, RAKSHANA proactively addresses harassment, abuse, and cybercrimes. Our missionisto create a secure and empowering environment for women 

Introduction

RAKSHANA – Your Shield is the Women’s Safety Cell at the Women’s EngineeringCollege, dedicated to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all female students, faculty, and staff. Our mission is to create a secure and supportive environment whereeverywoman can thrive without fear of harassment or discrimination.

Objectives of NSS

  1. Safety and Security: Establish a safe and secure environment for women on campus.
  2. Support and Counseling: Provide confidential support and counseling for individuals facingharassment or discrimination.
  3. Awareness and Education: Educate the campus community about women’s safety, genderequality, and cybercrime prevention.
  4. Grievance Redressal: Address and resolve complaints related to harassment, abuse, andcybercrimes effectively and sensitively.

Activities

Workshops and Seminars: Conduct regular workshops on self-defense, legal rights, gendersensitization, and cyber safety.

  • Counseling Services: Offer confidential counseling to support those in need.
  • Helpline: Provide a 24/7 helpline for immediate assistance and reporting of incidents.
  • Safety Audits: Perform regular safety audits to identify and mitigate potential risks on campus.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Organize campaigns to increase awareness about women’s rights, safety, and cyber safety.
  • Collaboration with SHE Team: Partner with the SHE Team for enhanced safety measures and joint awareness initiatives.
