About the Department

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) was established in 2012 with the vision of making it as a Centre of Excellence.

All disciplines of Science and Engineering now rely heavily on the power of computing and on skilled computer professionals. Computer Science & Engineering specialists are at the forefront of scientific and technological advancements. Keeping this demand in view, the Computer Science and Engineering Department’s goal is dedicated to create Women Technological Leaders of Tomorrow. It moulds students into individual with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to create innovative solutions for new challenges in science and technology.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is propped by well qualified, experienced, and committed faculty to provide quality industry tuned education to the students. The Department has state of the art facilities, infrastructure and computing equipment supported by uninterrupted high-speed internet connection to fulfill the requirements of academics, supports research and learning skills to keep up with the neoteric technological advances as per the industry requirement.

The department offers exciting opportunities for students to expand their intellectual horizons through guest lectures, technical seminars from eminent industries and academia personalities and keeps abuzz with activities to develop their technical skills through various clubs driven by active student participation throughout the year. These clubs include ACM Student Chapter, CSI Student Branch, Department Technical Association-TechBlitz, and coding platforms e-Lab, HackersBay, CodeChef, Hackerrank etc.

Industry oriented and value-added courses like Women In Software Engineering (WISE), Assistive Technologies Lab (ATL), Internet of Things (IoT), ServiceNow, Qualcomm, NASSCOM Future Skills, GCC, ACM, Business English Certification, German language Certification etc. are bestowed on par with the curriculum. In addition, many extracurricular activities are encouraged to showcase their skills. Students are fortunate to have mentor ship with topmost MNCs like Microsoft, Flipkart, Amazon, and Qualcomm, etc.

The department is always on its toes to provide an excellent platform through Mentorship, Internship, hobby projects, workshops, industrial visits for the passionate students to inculcate the zeal to learn new things and do something beyond their academics. These platforms drive students towards industry-oriented thinking, that helps them to participate in paper presentations, mini project exhibitions, Hackathons like Smart India, FLiPR, Codevita, HackWithInfy, etc.

Graduates from the CSE department are heavily recruited by many top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, MuSigma, Xerox, Adobe & SAP labs etc. Pursuing higher studies from reputed universities like University of Texas Austin, Purdue, University of Utah etc. Students are participating in various all India level competitions speak about the vision and strength of the Department.

Faculty and students are encouraged to do certifications offered by NPTEL – SWAYAM, Oracle Certified Java Profession (OCJP), ServiceNow, Coursera, edX, Udemy, NASSCOM etc, to move the needle on upgrading the proficiency and skill set in the interested areas.

The Department has vibrant Alumni working in top notch giants in software industry like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Salesforce, HP etc.

IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING (CSE)

The four-year undergraduate programme Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering was started from the academic year 2012-13 with an intake of 60, with the vision of making it as a center of excellence. With consistent academic excellence, the intake has been increased to 120 from the academic year 2014-15 and 180 from the academic year 2019-20 and Intake of students increased to 277 from the year 2024-25. The Department has state of the art facilities, infrastructure and computing equipment supported by uninterrupted high-speed internet connection to fulfill the requirements of academics, supports research and learning skills to keep up with the state-of-the-art technological advances as per the industry requirement. The undergraduate programme in Computer Science and Engineering is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for a period of Three years from the academic year 2018-2019 and extended till the academic year 2021-2022.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has a vibrant faculty with 35 in number (06 Professors, 03 Associate Professors and 26 Assistant Professors)  who with their vast Industrial and Teaching experience set the standards for the quality of education for approaching years. The department is also supported by Adjunct Faculty from Industry and Academia. The faculty are highly qualified and diversified in various domains like Machine Learning, Computer Networks, Data Mining, Image Processing, Parallel Computing, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, Soft Computing, Block Chain, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence etc.  to help the students to elevate their talent by delivering top class education blending their rich research experience with classroom teaching. Industry experts are invited religiously to update students’ knowledge to bridge the gap between the theoretical knowledge and the practical field.

Computer Science and Engineering comprises scientific and engineering aspects of computing and study of the theory, design, implementation, and performance of computer software and computer systems, including the study of computer-based devices.
